How to Make A Goathead Soft is an ongoing effort to hand-make up-cycled soft sculptures in the shape of goatheads (fruits also known as bindii or puncturevine). Drawing on the painful propensity of goatheads to stick around, plus their historical ties to colonization, the project prompts recipients to reconsider the infamous thorns as open arms eager for embrace and prompt colonized bodies to feel a little softer toward ourselves and each other.
